Your animation showcase starts a little late, I recommend showcasing the art right as the guitar picks up. That being said. Your walk cycles are fine but it could use a little more variation in your showcases, such as something with lip sync. Find what makes you tick and focus on what you're good at to show off your stuff in your reel. Good luck with your work!

I am strangely reminded of the Cheat's animations from Homestar runner about 15 years ago.

Don't be afraid to belt it out in the voice acting. The characters are pretty over the top and silly so be careful not to fall for the 'indoor voice.' All the characters sound like their parents are in the other room who would get angry if they made any noise. I hope this helps for your next video!

the character designs are pretty good. I do love the character interactions. However, the sound designed needed a LOT more love. The proton pack felt pretty weak as well as the chandelier. but it's not enough to really be a detriment. next time you do one of these shorts, remember that the sound effects can make a world of difference selling your visuals.

Knadire responds:

Sound design definitely isn't quite my area of expertise, and during the time we had allotted for this assignment we were pretty expressly told to make that our lowest priority. However you're absolutely right; certain impact noises could have used a lot more umph to make them read better. It's something I definitely could use more practice with and I'll be giving it more care in the near future. Thanks so much for the critique!

I would recommend keeping a frame of reference for your starting line to keep it consistent. Also the ball probably should have a bit of a second bounce given how high it goes up from its first. if the ball was heavier, the second bounce would work, but the first would still seem too high. You're getting there though, keep at it!

Kyruki responds:

True true. I think the only way I could get away with it doing that is if it hit some softer surface that absorbed it or something probably. But that is not the case here lmao, you’re right. Appreciate the feedback!! Thank you!

I really loved the mix of 2D and stop motion in this, you did a phenomenal job. I would recommend maybe finding a way to get the two dogs to vibrate with the van. perhaps if you nested their images and gave a slight wiggle to make them bounce with it, that would have sold it better.

cjmillett responds:

Yo thats a great idea! Thanks!
